An energetic crowd of nearly 26,500 toy professionals from 94 countries flocked to New York City from February 16-19, 2014 to participate in the largest toy marketplace ever held in the Western Hemisphere. Nearly 10,000 buyers from more than 5,000 retail outlets were in attendance.

At the EDC Publishing booth there was great excitement as the Whatif Monster appeared with his beloved creator Michelle Nelson-Schmidt, the author and illustrator of Jonathan James and the Whatif Monster, who signed books.

After the book signing, Michelle and the monster took in the sights all around New York City, as documented in the photos you see on the website. They visited Central Park, the Empire State Building, the New York Public Library, and FAO Schwarz, the famous toy store. In fact, he even had his picture taken with the toy soldier who greets customers at the front door of the store!

Jonathan James and the Whatif Monster is available in paperback (978-1-61067-118-7 $6.99), hardback (978-1-61067-131-6 $12.99), plush toy monster (978-1-61067-127-9 $12.99) and a boxed gift set with hardback book and the plush toy monster (978-1-61067-194-1 $26.99). Jonathan James’ Whatif Monster asks all kinds of questions to stop him trying new things: What if it’s scary? What if they laugh? Until finally, Jonathan James has a question: What if they don’t?
