PC - To run Fractured Fairy Tales: The Frog Prince on your PC, you
need windows 3.1 or Windows '95. If you are not using Windows '95 you will need
at least MS DOS 5.0. We recommend using a 486- 66 Megahertz or better, 8
megabytes of RAM or more, and a double speed CD ROM drive. A Sound Blaster 16
or compatible, and 13 megabytes of hard drive space is also recommended.
MAC - To run Fractured Fairy Tales: The Frog Prince on your
Macintosh, you need a Motorola 680/40 25 Megahertz or higher, or any power PC
Macintosh processor. A double speed CD-ROM drive, 8 megabytes of RAM, 13
megabytes of disk space, a System 7.1 or higher, and a monitor with at least
640 by 480 screen resolution and 256 colors.
First, make sure that your system meets the minimum requirements. A
system with a single-speed CD-ROM or a processor below the minimum requirements
may not be able to play all the animation properly. If your system meets the
minimum requirements, it may have insufficient RAM. The program performs best
with 8 MB of memory but may run with less. Close any open programs to free up
RAM. Your swap file setting may also affect the program's performance.
To stop the waterfall animation during the "Dodge the Flotsam" game
screen, press the "W" key on your keyboard. Pressing the "W" again will restart
the waterfall animation.
When you insert the Frog Prince CD into the CD-ROM Drive, an auto
play screen will appear, which allows you to click on a "Play" button and go
directly into the game. However, this process does NOT create a Frog Prince
program group into your start menu. If you want the game to create a program
group, you need to install the game using the "Add/Remove Programs" icon, which
can be found in the Control Panel. Once you've clicked on the "Add/Remove
Programs" icon, the game will install Frog Prince and add a program group
called "Media Station" into your Start Menu.
To do this in Windows 95:
1. Go to START, SETTINGS, and then CONTROL PANEL.
2. Double-click the DISPLAY icon.
3. Click the SETTINGS tab.
4. In the setting for 'Color Palette,' click the scroll arrow and choose '256
Colors' from the list of available options.
5. Click APPLY.
6. Click OK and restart your system if prompted.
To do this in Windows 3.1:
1. Go to the MAIN group.
2. Double-click the WINDOWS SETUP icon.
3. Choose OPTIONS, then CHANGE SYSTEM SETTINGS.
4. Select DISPLAY and choose the appropriate 256 color driver for your video
card.
NOTE: It is recommended that you contact your video card
manufacturer and obtain the latest drivers for your video card, as some older
cards may not support 256 color correctly without the latest drivers.
Yes. To temporarily disable AutoPlay, hold down the SHIFT key
on the keyboard when inserting the CD in the CD-ROM drive, and the AutoPlay
screen will not appear. This is helpful if you want to perform some other
function before installing the game onto your computer.

Before installing Frog Prince onto your Windows '95 system, be sure
to close down any applications running and turn off any screen savers you may
be using. Screen savers could affect the colors and animation or interfere with
installation. While you are running Windows '95, put the CD in the CD-ROM drive
and close the CD-ROM drive door. If your CD-ROM driver is configured for
AutoPlay, you will see a dialog box open and you must click on the setup button
before you will be able to play. Follow the on screen instructions to perform
the installation. Click on play to start Frog Prince. There are some CD-ROM
drives that do not yet support the AutoPlay function of Windows '95. If The
dialog box does not appear after a few moments of putting in the CD-ROM this
may be the cause. In order to install Frog Prince, first open the start menu on
the task bar. Select the RUN option from the start menu. A dialog box will
appear . In the opened box type D: Setup. This is assuming that D is the letter
of your CD-ROM drive. Now click on the O.K. button and the Frog Prince setup
screen should appear. Click on the setup button to install Frog Prince.
Before you install Frog Prince onto your Windows 3.1 system, be
sure to close down any applications running and turn off any screen savers you
may be using. Screen savers could affect the colors and animation or interfere
with installation. While you are running Windows, put the CD in the CD-ROM
drive and close the CD-ROM drive door. From the program manager, select file on
the menu bar. Then choose run. A command line box will appear. In the box type
D: setup. This is assuming that D is the letter of your CR-ROM drive. Click on
the O.K. button. Follow the instructions on the screen. When the installation
is done, you will return to the Program Manager and see a new program group
& help called, Media Station, with icons for Frog Prince, Frog Prince Help,
and Frog Prince UN-install. Double click on The Frog Prince icon to begin to
play.
For Windows 3.1, double click on the Frog Prince UN-install icon in
the media station program group. Follow the instructions on the screen. For
Windows '95, click the start button on the task bar, which is usually at the
bottom of the screen, to bring up the start menu. Then select the settings
option and click on "control panel." In control panel, double click on the "add
remove programs" icon. A list of all your programs will appear in a box, where
you can search for Frog Prince and select it. Now, click on the "remove"
button. A dialog box will appear and it will ask you if you want to delete the
file. Click on the "yes" button and now Frog Prince will be removed from your
system.
