If you would like to submit your work to Usborne, you may visit their website at www.usborne.co.uk and click on “Contact us” at the upper right portion of the screen. Choose “Authors & illustrators” from the drop-down menu, and this will bring up the guidelines for submission. (If “Authors & illustrators” does not appear on the drop-down menu, Usborne is not accepting submissions at this time. You may want to check back at a later date.

EDC Publishing/Kane Miller does accept submissions for publishing. All submissions should be sent to:

Editorial Department, Kane Miller, 4901 Morena Blvd., Ste 213, San Diego, CA 92117. They are currently looking for non-fiction ages 2-12 on those subjects that are particularly American: sports such as baseball, historical events, American biographies, American folk tales, etc.

We are also committed to expanding our early and middle-grade fiction list. We’re interested in great stories with engaging characters in all genres (mystery, fantasy, adventure, historical, etc.) and, as with non-fiction, especially those with particularly American subjects.

Work submitted for consideration should be sent by mail only- we do not accept submissions via e-mail or fax.

There are two additional websites that you may want to visit. They should give you some information on book publishers and services, which you might find helpful:

www.booksatoz.com (This is a wonderful site for authors who aren't really sure where to go next. Books A to Z can actually publish your book for you. They offer short and long print runs, as well as design, layout and editing services.)
